At NASI, we inspire our students to embrace their talents and harness creativity. From make-up artistry and massage therapy to esthetics, what occurs in the classroom turns into art.
In celebration of International Dot Day on Saturday, Sep. 15, we are encouraging everyone to show off their creative side.
Whether it’s writing, drawing, photography or theatrical makeup, art is all around us.
International Dot Day was inspired by “The Dot,” a children’s book written by Peter H. Reynolds and introduced in a classroom environment in 2009 by Terry Shay. The story teaches about the power of encouragement. When a little girl lacks self-confidence in her artistic abilities the teacher asks her to “make a mark and see where it takes you.” The teacher then asks her to sign it and hangs it up in a frame. By placing a dot on a piece of paper she is taken on a journey of self-discovery.
It only takes one step to make a change in your life. Start with a dot, a phone call, a simple conversation with a friend, and achieve the impossible.
