It’s common knowledge that the eye is the window to the soul and we can all agree that the eyebrow is the frame that highlights the beauty of a person’s face.
More often than not, people neglect their eyebrows not knowing that it’s one of the most prominent features on the face. Thin, unkempt eyebrows instantly age a person, but perfectly shaped and full brows make a face look years younger, giving a woman or man a boost of confidence and balance.
Thick eyebrows are a sign of youth and as we age, it’s common for hair to thin. Sometimes, eyebrows lack beauty because of over plucking, poor diet, even genetics. There are ways to fix the arch and bring a youthful looking brow back.
Are you an over plucker? Is your eyebrow missing that natural arch or has bald spots? At New Age Spa Institute, we are here to guide you on the journey to a perfect brow. A crucial step is regrowth, so put the tweezers down. Give your eyebrows a few months to restore to normal for the esthetician to have a new canvas to work with. In a hurry? Try a growth serum or biotin-rich supplements to speed up the process. While your brows are growing in, you can use a tinted filler to cover up some of those gaps and uneven spaces. Once the eyebrow is bushy it’s time to get to work. The best thing to do is visit a professional, but if you want to take a stab at it and do it at home start small. Trim the brows first and follow your natural curve. The arch should be where the brow bone protrudes the most. Work in straight lines starting from under the brow to the arch then from the arch down. Remember, it’s always best to be conservative, don’t overdo it. When in doubt go to a salon where the esthetician can give you simple techniques on how to keep eyebrows maintained and looking fresh. Finally, fill the brows. There are many tools for this simple at-home process. A little bit of pencil or powder goes a long way. Not into doing it yourself? Try tinting them and avoid the daily tinting hassle. Tinting lasts anywhere from six to eight weeks, eliminating the need to get your brows ready in the morning.
At NASI, we are always looking for licensed professionals eager to learn. This year, we launched a new Continuing Education class focused on the lashes. In just one, 10-hour day, our instructors demonstrate how to perm and tint the lashes. We also go over the history of the eyebrow and dive into challenges and solutions professionals face when working on clients with injectables and fillers. The one-day class, Let’s Frame It, is full of demos, step-by-step instructions and hands-on activities. In addition to this class we also offer another CE Makeup class that’s worth checking out: All About Eyes. This makeup workshop focuses on everything you need to know about eyes and eyebrows.
We’re excited to be able to share this with you.
