Deep, Pouty, & Flipped

Fall is in full form. The Art Institute of Makeup team is completely inspired by the reemergence of makeup!

During Fall 2021 the heavily lined eyes will shine through. A lot of hair trends are leaning into longer bangs & ‘70s shag-like hair, both short & long versions. That means lined eyes will have a moment as the hair frames the face & emphasizes that area. You will see black, deep burgundy, sable brown, & deep blue on upper & lower eyes. This includes the lower inner waterline for some looks. Don’t be afraid to get creative with colors & allow your eyes to really pop.

With mask mandates starting to lift, the playfulness of showing off your pout has returned! (Finally!) Whether it is satin or super glossy, lip gloss is the one of the top items this fall. It can be worn alone, as a base, or as a topper to show off your lips while locking in hydration and moisture. Try pairing glossy lips with semi-matte skin and a soft smoky eye for a stunning evening look.

A cat eye is one of the most classic makeup choices of all time, but this reversed version is definitely an eye-catching, unexpected change. It’s a fun new approach to the traditional eye liner. The reverse cat eye focuses on eyeliner applied under the lower lash line rather than swiping your liquid liner on your top eyelids.  This look quite literally flips the trend on its head! The black gel liner from INGLOT is the perfectly paired with a nude INGLOT kohl pencil to really create an elevated look to your reverse cat eye.
