At the New Age Spa Institute, every student carries a story—one that shapes their purpose, passion, and path. This month, we’re honored to share Rosie Gongor’s journey: a mother, dreamer, and future esthetician who proves that persistence and passion can transform a life.
Rosie is first and foremost a proud mom to a toddler. Before esthetics entered the picture, she worked as a travel agent, then embraced full-time motherhood. Those first two years at home with her baby were both beautiful and isolating.
“Those years gave me time to think about my life, what I enjoy, and what I want for my future,” Rosie shares.
During that time, she leaned into self-care—journaling, meditating, reading, and most importantly, discovering the world of skincare. Experimenting with new gadgets and treatments sparked something unexpected: a passion that turned into a calling. Soon, she was not only taking care of her own skin but helping friends and family with their routines, too.
Finding Her Place at NASI
When Rosie decided to pursue esthetics as a career, she knew she needed a school that felt like home.
Living in Des Plaines, she felt fortunate that NASI was right in her own community.
“Everything just worked out perfectly,” Rosie says. “I attended the open house, loved it, and found a daycare that matched the school schedule. It felt like the universe aligned.”
But Rosie’s story stretches further back. She moved to the U.S. at age 15 from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, with her parents and two brothers. Those early years were filled with challenges—navigating high school, university, and learning English. Compared to those days, NASI feels like a new beginning.
“Here, I feel awake and aware. I can understand everything and express myself fully,” she explains.
Lessons Beyond Esthetics
Balancing motherhood, family life, and school hasn’t been easy, but Rosie has discovered strength she didn’t know she had.
“There were times I was stressed, even depressed, but I kept persisting,” she admits. “I’ve learned to wake up earlier, manage my time better, and create routines. Most importantly, studying has sharpened my memory and given me confidence.”
Her favorite treatments to perform? Facials, lashes, and makeup. She loves the glow and confidence her clients leave with, the detailed artistry of lash work, and the creativity of makeup. Her favorite treatments to receive? Facials and body wraps—for glowing skin and calming renewal.
Looking Ahead

“I’d love to work in a holistic spa—somewhere that focuses on both inner and outer wellness. Helping others rejuvenate and become their best selves makes me happy.”
